Purpose of the Position

High school Teacher is a member of the Learning & Teaching team and is responsible for designing and developing digital teaching and learning content and blended pedagogy. The Learning Designer will have expert knowledge of NBSE and/or CBSE based curriculums and will plan and prepare learning frameworks within a digital teaching and learning environment to achieve prescribed learning outcomes of the curriculum. 

The Learning Designer will seek content contributions from a wide range of stakeholders and be responsible for supporting content development and course design within set project deliverable timelines.

The Learning Designer will contribute to the organisation’s overall digital learning and teaching strategic initiatives through participation in various forums and collaborative initiatives.

Organisational Unit Function

  • Ensure the education course and practice meets or exceeds the quality standards of NBSE and/or CBSE
  • Plan and develop a range of teaching courses or courses of study
  • Ensuring digital content supports student achievement of the desired learning objectives of the relevant courses
  • Designing content that is engaging, relevant, interactive and challenging using the most up to date and appropriate range of e-learning tools
  • Contributing to improvement strategies related to curriculum planning and delivery
  • Have the content knowledge and pedagogical practice to meet the diverse needs of students
  • Managing individual projects to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of digital content that meets quality standards. This includes producing and maintaining detailed project documentation, keeping key stakeholders up to date with project progress and evaluating the project outcomes
  • Participating in meetings and working groups that provide direction and support to the provision of quality digital content construct
  • Support a culture of reflective practice and continuous improvement
  • Seek and share best practice examples to improve the education programs

Essential

  • A proven commitment to and understanding of the education sector
  • 3+ years of high school or higher secondary teaching experience
  • Masters level education
  • Appetite for understanding and responding to emerging digital education trends
  • Significant and deep understanding of the NBSE and/or CBSE curriculum and syllabus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to work autonomously whilst displaying a strong commitment to work in a team environment, including the ability to confidently and effectively work with colleagues and project team leaders
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage varying workloads and respond to changing priorities as required
  • Ability to think ahead and anticipate and present solutions
